Student sick notes

Each university will have their own sickness policy, but in general students are able to self-certify for short term illnesses that disrupt their university for, WITHOUT the need for a doctor’s note.

For example, the University of Liverpool has a policy which states that you will not need to provide a doctor’s letter for an illness that lasts up to 3 weeks.

If your circumstances do not allow for self certification of illness (for example an illness longer than 3 weeks), and you require a doctor’s letter, please be aware that this is not a service available on the NHS and the practice charges a fee to cover costs.  Full details of relevant fees can be found by selecting the ‘Fees’ page under ‘Practice Info’ on the main menu.
